The DG Shipping medical examination is a mandatory requirement for seafarers, conducted to MLC 2006 and STCW standards.
The process typically includes vision and hearing tests, blood pressure and ECG, blood and urine sample collection, chest X-ray, spirometry, and a final evaluation by the medical officer.
To prepare, bring a valid photo ID, your previous medical certificate if this is a renewal, and arrive well-rested — fatigue can affect blood pressure and vision test results.
